To propose on Christmas with one of our lab-grown diamond engagement rings, order by November 25. Every ring is made to order in about 3 weeks, then shipped insured with tracking. Through November 19 (11:59 pm Eastern), every ring in our engagement collection is 30% off at checkout: a 2 ct ring in 14K gold with a VS1 F–G center starts at $1,256.50 instead of $1,795. Every center stone ships with a printed IGI report, and rings bought November 1 to December 24 can be returned until January 31.
- Work back from the date. About 3 weeks to make, plus shipping, plus a few days of margin.
- Shape first, then carat. Oval and round are the two most chosen shapes; elongated shapes look bigger at the same carat.
- Her size can be fixed later. One free resize within 60 days of delivery, but a resized ring can no longer be returned.
- Holiday returns run to January 31. For rings bought November 1 to December 24, unworn and unresized, with the IGI report.

The Christmas proposal timeline
An engagement ring from our collection is made for you after you order, so the calendar matters more than with a ready-made gift. Plan it backward from the day you will ask.
Made-to-order times are estimates, so build in a few days of margin. If your proposal is on Christmas Eve, treat the order-by date as a deadline, not a target. Proposing on New Year’s Eve instead buys you about a week.
What the ring costs
Our lab-grown diamond engagement rings are in their launch offer: 30% off every ring in the Engagement Rings collection through November 19 (11:59 pm Eastern). The discount comes off automatically at checkout, and it does not combine with discount codes. These are complete rings, so the price covers the setting, the gold and an IGI-reported lab-grown center stone.
Lowest regular price across our 386 lab-grown ring listings at each carat (November 3, 2026), and the same price with 30% off. The typical (median) 2 ct ring is $2,395, or $1,676.50 at the launch price. Higher grades and 18K gold cost more: VVS1 D adds a typical $255 on a 2 ct ring, and 18K adds about $545 to $600.

Rings bought during a promotion keep the same 30-day return terms. For every carat, style and upgrade, see our full lab-grown engagement ring cost guide. Pay over time with Affirm, Klarna or Afterpay: 0% APR plans for those who qualify, subject to approval (financing).
Choose the shape
Shape is the choice she will notice first. Round (26% of couples) and oval (25%) are the two most chosen shapes, according to The Knot’s 2026 Real Weddings Study. At the same 2 carats, a marquise shows about 60 mm² of diamond from the top and an oval about 57 mm², against 52 mm² for a round, so elongated shapes look bigger for the money. If she has ever pointed at a ring, or saved one, that shape is your answer. Otherwise oval is a safe, flattering choice. Our engagement ring shapes guide shows the same ring in all eight shapes on one hand, to scale.
Then choose the gold: solid 14K or 18K, in yellow, white or rose. Match what she already wears every day. Browse by shape in the Engagement Rings collection: oval, round, pear, emerald and more.
Get her size without asking
Every ring page has a Find her size guide with three ways to do it quietly: measure the inside of a ring she already wears on that finger with a ruler, wrap a paper strip around her finger, or read it from the size chart. Borrow a ring she wears on her ring finger, not her middle finger, since the sizes differ. Our ring size guide has a printable chart.
If you guess wrong, it can be fixed: you get one free resize within 60 days of delivery, with U.S. shipping both ways included. Two things to know: once a ring is resized, it can no longer be returned, and eternity and full-pavé bands are remade instead of resized (quoted separately).
The IGI report
Every center stone in our engagement collection ships with a printed IGI report, plus a GOLDZENN certificate of authenticity for the ring. The report lists the stone’s carat weight, color, clarity and measurements, and states that it is lab-grown. You can look up the report number on IGI’s website. Side and accent stones are not covered by the report. Keep the report with the ring: it is needed for a return, and replacing a missing one costs $150. For what each grade means and how IGI compares with GIA, read IGI vs GIA for lab-grown diamonds.
Delivery and keeping it secret
The ring ships insured with tracking, and a signature may be required on higher-value orders. If you share a home, ship it where you can sign for it yourself, such as your office, and watch the tracking. The IGI report and the certificate travel with the ring, so keep the box closed until the day.
After she says yes
Our engagement ring return terms, from our refund policy: 30-day returns from delivery, with your choice of 100% store credit or a refund to the original payment method minus a 10% restocking fee (maximum $400). Holiday orders: rings purchased November 1 to December 24 can be returned until January 31. The ring must be unworn, unresized and unengraved, in the original box, with the IGI certificate and GOLDZENN appraisal. Custom designs and engraved rings are final sale, and the policy allows one engagement-ring return per customer every 12 months.
Planning the moment
- Pick a quiet minute inside a busy day. Christmas morning before the family arrives, or a walk to see the lights, gives you privacy and a natural reason to dress up.
- Tell one person. Someone who can take photos or video from a distance, and keep everyone else away until she has answered.
- Keep the ring box out of the gift pile. A small box under the tree gets guessed. Keep it in your pocket.
- Have a plan B. If the day gets hectic, Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve keeps the season and the meaning.
Method and data
Ring prices are the regular listed prices of our 386 lab-grown diamond engagement ring listings, read on November 3, 2026, for 14K gold with a VS1 F–G center; ring prices are held until November 19, and we spot-checked them on November 4. Launch prices are those prices with the 30% automatic discount. Lead time and IGI reports are from our ring listings; return and resize terms are quoted from our refund policy. Shape shares are from The Knot’s 2026 Real Weddings Study, and face-up areas are from our shapes guide. All ring images are digital renders, not photographs.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I order an engagement ring for a Christmas proposal?
Order by November 25. Our rings are made to order in about 3 weeks, then shipped insured, and the date leaves a few days of margin.
How long does the 30% launch offer last?
Through November 19, 11:59 pm Eastern. It applies automatically at checkout to every ring in our Engagement Rings collection and does not combine with discount codes.
What if I don’t know her ring size?
Use the Find her size guide on the ring page: a ruler on one of her rings, a paper strip or the size chart. If it is off, one free resize within 60 days is included, but a resized ring can no longer be returned.
Can I return the ring if plans change?
Yes, within the terms. Rings bought November 1 to December 24 can be returned until January 31, unworn, unresized and unengraved, with the IGI certificate. You choose 100% store credit or a refund minus a 10% restocking fee (maximum $400).
Does the ring come with a certificate?
Yes. Every center stone ships with a printed IGI report, and the ring comes with a GOLDZENN certificate of authenticity. Side stones are not on the IGI report.
What carat looks good for a proposal?
It depends on her hand and budget more than on a rule. At 2 ct, an oval faces up like a round of about 2.3 ct, so an elongated shape gives you more look per carat. Compare them on the hand in our shapes guide.
